Help

Everything about limits, file types and what to do when a separation doesn't work.

Limits

  • Formats: MP3, WAV, FLAC, M4A, OGG, AAC (plus Opus and WebM audio).
  • File size: up to 100 MB.
  • Length: up to 10 minutes per song.
  • Free usage: 3 songs per 24 hours. Failed separations don't count.
  • Storage: files are deleted within 24 hours; download links expire after 1 hour. Download what you need right away.

Common problems

“Unsupported file type”

We accept audio files only. If you have a video, extract the audio first (most video editors and VLC can export an MP3). Some phone formats such as AMR aren't supported — convert them to MP3 or WAV.

“File is too large” or “Song is too long”

A 4-minute WAV is about 40 MB, so most songs fit. For long WAV or FLAC files, export an MP3 at 320 kbps — the quality difference after separation is small. Trim DJ mixes and live sets into individual songs.

“We couldn't read the audio”

The file may be damaged or use an unusual codec. Open it in a media player; if it plays, re-export it as MP3 or WAV.

“Free limit reached”

You've separated 3 songs in the last 24 hours. The limit frees up gradually as earlier jobs age out.

The upload stopped

Uploads need a stable connection. On mobile data, try Wi-Fi, keep the tab open, and don't lock your phone during the upload.

Getting cleaner results

  • Use the best source you have: WAV, FLAC or 320 kbps MP3.
  • Prefer studio versions over live recordings.
  • Heavy reverb, distortion or vocal effects can leave faint traces in the instrumental. This is a limitation of every vocal remover, not just ours.
